SWATCHGROUP

From  3 August 2015 until now I have been working at the Swatchgroup, where sales is my main responsibility. Initially I started working here because I was looking for a job that could offer me a year contract quickly, so my husband from China would be allowed to live in the Netherlands.

To be honest, being a sales associate has never been my dream. But while I was working here, I discovered there couldn’t be a better place to learn the basics of marketing and communication on the field.

As a sales associate I am constantly  translating the needs of the customer into a persuasive story that will let them know that this is exactly the watch they have been looking for. I am the final marketing channel that convinces the customer to really purchase the watch they have been looking for.

While being a final marketing channel, I am also a problem solver. Pretty much every customer will come up with something they don’t like about the product. I am there to help them overcome their objections or offer an alternative. In just a few second I need to get my all knowledge about the product ready and come up with a solution, before the customer walks away. I admit I don’t reach a 100% conversion, but who does?

I also know how to deal with complaints. No disrespect to the service of the Swatchgroup, but if you bought a watch of €1000,- two years ago, you return to the store because you ran out of battery, and think I can replace your battery directly, you're in for a bad surprise. It’s my job to be understanding, patient and professional so the customer will still be happy with his or her product, and our service.

I enjoy my current job very much, and it thaught me a lot. But working there for more than 2 years I feel I reached the ceiling. I am now looking for job in which I can further develop myself.
